The HEREWEGO (HERmitic and monastic lifE in Western and Eastern European Middle ages with a Game Output) project aims at developing and promoting a TTTP (Transnational Thematic Tourist Product) by using gamification (Mobile Game – CCI). The common theme related to European cultural heritage is: Hermitic and Monastic life in Western and Eastern European Middle Ages.

A story connecting several European Cultural Heritage Sites (Sites from now on) will be designed and implemented as a Mobile Game
The TTTP will be composed by:

• a virtual route that players (potential tourists) will be able to play on their mobile device at any time and from anywhere as a basic level of the Mobile Game;

• a real tourist route connecting the Sites; players by visiting them will have the possibility to advance in the Mobile Game (unblocking functionality or/and earning rewards). Only players who will visit all the Sites will be able to reach the higher rewards/score and/or discover the whole story.

The Sites involved are: Meteora (Greece, Unesco site), Natural and Cultural-Historical Region of Kotor (Montenegro, Unesco site), Majella National Park (Italy, Unesco site candidate), Rock art of the Iberian Mediterranean Basin (La Sarga) (Spain, Unesco site).

The story will focus on Meteora together with the Natural and Cultural-Historical Region of Kotor and will involve all the other Sites. The Mobile Game will actively conduct the player to discover the Sites, their attractions and beauties. Moreover it will inform the tourist about their sustainability requirements. At the same time tourism SMEs will be involved in the Mobile Game to settle a transnational network and to improve the economic sustainability after the end of the project.

Market studies (newzoo – Global Games Market Report – April 2017) show that, in 2017, 2.2 billion gamers across the globe are expected to generate $108.9 billion in game revenues (annual increase of 7.8%). Mobile is the most interesting segment, with smartphone and tablet gaming growing 19% per year and claiming 42% of the market. This is a huge potential market for tourism development especially the one connected with CCIs.

A well design mobile game can engage people, especially new generations, to travel and discover Cultural Heritage while encouraging the creation of local and transnational communities both of clients and of SMEs

The WILDIMAGE (Where Individuals Lived During Invasions in Middle AGEs) project aims at developing and promoting a TTTP (Transnational Thematic Tourist Product) by using gamification (Mobile Game – CCI). The European Transnational theme is focused on historical figures and/or events which forced the European population to escape from the violence of history to find God and themselves; atmospheres between religiosity and mysticism; signs of memory of persecution and defence of religious identity.
A story illustrating the life of Medieval European populations and/or Individuals in 5 different European countries (Sites from now on) will be designed and implemented as a Mobile Game. (par.B.1.3) The main character of the story will be a XXI century reporter who will enlighten the parallel and similar but historical events which took place in different European Regions/Countries during the Middle Ages.

The TTTP will be composed by:

• a virtual route (the journey of a special reporter, sent back in the Middle Ages) that gamers (potential tourists) will be able to play on their mobile device from anywhere as a basic level of the Mobile Game;

• a real tourist route (tour package/s) connecting the Sites; score and complete the whole story. Gamers by visiting them will have the possibility to advance in the Mobile Game (unblocking functionalities). Only players who will visit all the Sites will be able to complete the whole story.
The Sites involved are: Meteora (Greece-Thessaly), Natural and Cultural-Historical Region of Kotor (Montenegro), Majella National Park Hermitages (Italy-Abruzzo), Covetes dels Moros- (Spain-Boicarent), Jagellonian University (Poland-Krakow).

The Mobile Game will actively conduct the player to discover the research activity of the reporter as well the Sites attractions. Tourism SMEs and EPA will be involved in the Mobile Game to settle a transnational network and to improve the economic sustainability after the end of the project.
